The idea: The Torah is a Jew’s primary source of knowledge and every Jew, no matter how religious or spiritual, can find direction and inspiration from studying the Torah. “The Daily Aliya” is a concept that divides the weekly Torah reading into 7 parts, and participants all over the world read, study and discuss the “Aliya” of the day (content is sent weekly). This program makes a very important point:

It doesn’t matter how observant you are but that you are a Jew, and that you are part of the whole. The Torah speaks to the reader on the reader’s level, and in today’s world of labeling sects of Judaism, we lose track of the ultimate purpose and role of being a Jew. The Daily Aliya connects every Jew on every continent, regardless of religious affiliation, with a common topic that everyone can read, learn and adapt to everyday life.
